  • Peter Nieuwenhuizen, AkzoNobel Specialty Chemicals,
  • William Lese, Braemar Energy Ventures,
  • Stijn Effting, Port of Rotterdam,
  • David McConnell, Enerkem

A transformation is taking place in the Port of Rotterdam, where a public-private consortium is working to realize a commercial 180 mln EUR investment Waste-2-Chemistry plant, making fuels and chemicals. Recently the consortium has signed formal collaborations and, having added the Dutch government and the Rabobank to the partnership, has now moved into detailed engineering. Many years in the making, this venture is the result of committed partners, early believers who spotted an opportunity for transformation.

In this panel, key “partners in crime” will present current status of the project and explain their involvement, but importantly they will elaborate on the characteristics of their organizations to take on high-risk-high-reward projects like this one.
