Locus AG is an agricultural products company based on a proprietary distributed fermentation system to deliver high-density, freshly produced beneficial microbes to crops, and which is supported by several other platforms focused on offering an integrated portfolio of tools to help growers better manage their farms.
Paul career has focused on work to increase agricultural crop diversity and productivity; improve the nutritional content of food; and through more productive agricultural systems to increase the economic stability of rural agricultural communities.
Paul received his undergraduate degree from Lewis and Clark College (Ecology and Secondary Education) and his Ph.D. in Botany and Plant Pathology from Colorado State University where he worked on development of cropping systems for dry-land agriculture. He has held scientific, development, operations and senior administrative positions with Venture Capital, Start-Up, and Fortune 500 companies. He has extensive international experience and has been a founder of several agricultural and renewable-energy based companies who have had a specific focus on providing local food and economic security.
Paul is a Fellow of the Weed Science Society of America and a member of the Environmental Entrepreneurs where he works to help advise and advocate for clean technology/business policy development with State and US national government and regulatory bodies. He is an inventor on over 35 issued US patents. He was named in 2006 as a Queensland Champion by the Queensland, Australia Government (the first American citizen to be so honored). Paul has a career interest in K-12 education and community service initiatives. He has served on Boards and as a student mentor for several not-for-profit educational organizations. Paul has been an Adjunct Professor of Horticulture and member of the Graduate Faculty at North Carolina State University for the past 30 years.
